I have decided to put my preschool on hold until I have time to advertise effectively. Please keep us in mind for the future.

What I'll be teaching...
I printed up the AZ Standards for Early Education and was very surprised at how simple they are. I will be using these standards to lesson plan from, but will be branching into the kindergarten stuff as much as possible. For this year, I would like a mostly 'pre-K' class (for kids that will be going to kindergarten next school year). If your child misses the school cut off {Sept 1} for next year by weeks, like my daughter, I will be happy to have them if I still have spots at the first of August. I will be posting curriculum topics as I get them organized. All this planning is getting me very excited to start-
I cannot wait!

Who am I?
I have wanted to start a preschool for a few years, and am excited to finally have space in my house to do it!
I received my BA from The University of Arizona in Psychology and got my Post-Bach Certificate in Elementary Education. I worked in a day care for just over a year, worked as a nanny for 3 years (substitute taught during that time), and taught 1st grade for a year before "retiring" to have babies. I love kids and enjoy watching them learn and grow.
My oldest child is at that age where she needs preschool. Her birthday misses the cut off, so she still has 2 years at home with me before kindergarten, but I want to get her ready for it! And that's where you come in. I will be teaching preschool for 4-year-old's, two days a week in my home. I would like to keep the class size low, preferable 6-8 kids. I will be posting more information as I get more organized, but wanted to get the word out. I plan to begin the fall session mid August, a couple weeks after the "big-kids" start school.
Please feel free to pass this blog address on~
Thanks~ Heather
